Daily Operations
Here are some current positions for involvement during operational hours at ENCM:
- Clothing Closet Sorter
We need one or two eager individuals daily to receive clothing donations, organize, hang, and fold clothes, and keep the clothing closet clean of clutter. - Clothing Store Clerk
Five days a week we need a clerk that can monitor the traffic that enters and leaves the clothing store, handles small amounts of money with confidence, distinguish between customers eligible for free clothing and those paying. - Food Pantry Gatekeeper
Pack, carry, and haul heavy boxes of food, and do with respect for our guests. A strong, respectful volunteer usually fills this position well. - Food Pantry Stocker
Roughly 8,000 pounds of food come into our food pantry each week. The stocker makes sure it’s always accessible and located on the proper shelves. This job is often for two people. - Greeter
We don’t receive clients at the Co-op, we welcome guests. The greeter is the face of the Co-op to the community and must always make our guests feel welcome in the waiting room while answering phones, taking names, and keeping the lobby clean. - Floater
Clean, empty trash, help cook lunch, sweep, etc. You name it, the floater does it. We can use up to two floater each day. - Screener
Each guest wanting emergency food box assistance must be screened. This position does light data entry, computational work, and converses with guests in private. - Gardener
Watering and harvesting are needed all summer long. We will need one or two gardeners five days per week to tend to the basic needs of the garden. This position requires tremendous amounts of patience a willingness to learn about the intricacies of the McCoy Memorial Garden.
